A word from Annette 12/23/2020
My grandmother always read the “Christmas Story” to us before we could open our gifts. I remember waiting to hear the part where the angel said, “You shall call His Name Jesus.” Something about that stirred my spirit even as a small child.
This season I have been meditating on Isaiah 9:6 “... and his name shall be called WONDERFUL, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
In my study, I discovered the word “wonderful” is from the Hebrew word meaning “incomprehensible.” Of course my mind immediately jumped to the quantum realm of all possibilities because quantum physics is pretty incomprehensible. His Name is incomprehensible because our minds cannot grasp the infinities of His love and the infinite possibilities of His power working through us and in our lives. How many ways is He trying to bless us and our minds stand in the way? Can we believe and accept that the Creator of the Universe really dwells in us through the Holy Spirit? Can we accept that He has bestowed upon us ALL that HE IS through Jesus? Can you accept that???
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard and no one’s heart has imagined all the things that God has prepared for those who love him.” ...but...read the next verse: “But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets.” (1 Cor 2:9-10)
It is beyond our minds, but it is NOT beyond our spirits. Let your spirit rejoice in God and the name of our Saviour Jesus. He has done great things!
In Christ,
Annette Capps
